Why Should We Use Juniper Logical Systems for the Juniper JNCIS-SP

We have 9 logical routers however all these routers are just running on one juniper vMX image,

this is a fantastic piece of virtualisation software that juniper has added into a all their

MX series routers, this  allows you to logically separate the actual router into multiple routers.

Study for the JNCIS-SP and even higher has just become easy.

 

Now if you are doing your Juniper JNCIS-SP studies you might have come across

routing instances where  we could have overlapping

IP ranges and subnets and have separated logical routing tables on the MX device however with the logical

systems that goes much further this.

 

Router PE1 in the video is a complete independent logical router it has

access to its own dynamic and static routing protocols, its own router id’s for BGP and OSPF  and it’s completely own

routing tables like the inet.0 and the inet.3, infract all the logical routers have the same features.

 

What parts of the Juniper JNCIS-SP JN0-363 can you study with logical systems

On the logical systems you can run all your routing protocols, you can run your ISIS (intermediate system to intermediate system) and your RIP (routing information protocol) or your OSPF (open shortest path first)

The JNCIS-SP has heavy content on MPLS (multi protocol label switching) and your BGP (border gateway protocol) and logical systems will run both protocols very well.

Logical systems can run IPV4 and IPV6 tunnelling and all your layer 2 switching protocols.

From the video we can see that all 9 of these logical routers are

running within this one Juniper vMX router.
